Training is an important role of SANHS. We were pleased to provide a grant from the Maltwood Fund of £1,000 to provide training organised by the Axbridge Archaeological and Local History Society and the Chapel Allerton Society.

The photograph on the left shows the use of an instrument that will produce the data for the computer generated survey. Although the survey failed to find traces of the previously suspected structures on the site, it clearly shows the earlier pattern of field boundaries.
