Eligible proposals include high quality research into and publication of the archaeology and history related to historic Somerset (Maltwood Fund) as well as the promotion of archaeology, exploration, training and the encouragement of the engagement of amateurs, professionals and younger people in order to broaden our understanding of archaeology and history of Somerset (Gray Fund).

Grants applications will be assessed twice each year with the deadline for applications being 30 August and 31 December. The Society’s aim is to respond to applications within 4 weeks.
