SANHS Webinar: Banwell Bone Caves – by John Page * RESCHEDULED to 4th March 2026*

The Banwell Bone Cave has become a “type site” for the fauna of this country at a particular period. Its re-discovery in the ealy 19th century, amid the religious turmoil accompanying the emergence of geology, the theme park created by a bishop and his “professor” to promote the views of the church, plus some later cave extensions, are the subject of this talk.
