The Wyndham Hall was built for SANHS in 1927 with money donated by William Wyndham. The aim was to provide a lecture hall to help spread knowledge and understanding to the members of SANHS but also to the wider public. Read more …
The building has changed very little over the last 100 years and its features remain largely intact. It is Locally Listed. The interior was designed to host cinematic projection (including with a projection room and fire safety screen) with raked seating, These are all still in place. It also has a 16th century entrance door – rescued from an old coaching inn, which was demolished and replaced by the Old Post office in Taunton.
The hall is in central Taunton, next to the museum. It is situated within Goodlands Gardens near to the River Tone and is convenient for shops and cafes. There is public parking nearby and it is a short walk from the railway station.
The hall is available for £40 per session -either a morning, an afternoon or an evening.
The hall has seating for up to 100 people and can be used for:
Talks and Lectures
Drama productions
Musical performances
Film and cinema
