Silent Film – Herbert Brenon’s Peter Pan (1924) accompanied by harpist Elizabeth-Jane Baldry in the film’s centenary year. £12.00
Peter Pan is a 1924 American silent film adaptation of the 1904 play by J. M. Barrie. Directed by Herbert Brenon and starring Betty Bronson as Peter Pan, Ernest Torrence as Captain Hook, Mary Brian as Wendy, Virginia Browne Faire as Tinker Bell, Esther Ralston as Mrs. Darling, and Anna May Wong as the Native American princess Tiger Lily. The film was seen by Walt Disney, and inspired him to create his company’s 1953 animated adaptation. Silent films were never ‘silent’ being accompanied by live musicians and tonight we have renowned silent film harpist Elizabeth-Jane Baldry providing her music to this classic version of the Peter Pan story, now in its centenary year. This will be a perfect magical Christmas treat which will captivate and enchant all who attend – young and old.
Refreshments will be available before the film starts.
