Somerton Road, Langport Archaeological Excavations Open Day
Join us on Sunday 31st August between 10 am and 3:30 pm for an open day at the ongoing archaeological excavations at Somerton Rd, Langport.
Guided tours will be conducted around the Roman villa which has been uncovered during the excavation. Poster displays and examples of the finds recovered on the site will detail the work to date and how the dicoveries fit into the story of the wider Langport area. There will also be archaeologically-themed activities for all ages.
Site access off Somerton Rd. (see map below) Limited local parking.
Dogs welcome. Please wear strong outdoor footwear.
Note: This is an active excavation site. As such, access to the archaeology is over rough and uneven ground.
